NH Bike Week June 13-21, 2009

The 86th NH Bike (Motorcycle) Week opens on Saturday, June 13. I-93 and side-road traffic will be heavy, especially in the Tilton-Laconia area. DUI checks are slated for roads in the Laconia-Belmont-Sanbornton area. Attendance has been steadily declining since a high of 375, 000 in 2004, and the economy, gas prices, and probably the weather will affect this year as well, but there will still be a lot of cyclists and spectators in or headed for NH. Last year's attendance was 230, 000. (Still no helmet law in NH.)

AND, it always rains that week. Which is GREAT for me because I'm off for the Allagash next week.

I wish I could join you in the Allagash- I truly believe that may be the closest destination where you might not hear any loud MC pipes for a while.
