Can anyone provide any details of the bushwhack from Elk Pass to the base of the Nippletop slide.

Thanks,
Dave

It's pretty straightforward although the last time I was there, admittedly a few years ago, there wasn't much of a path or anything.

From the top of the pass, just head downhill, south, and follow the obvious drainage. If you stay on the left (Nippletop) side of the drainage, you can't miss the slide. It's not long, less than a mile, but it seems longer. Once you're on the slide the nastiness of the approach seems a distant memory.

At the slide's end just keep going up till there's no more up, then left to the actual summit.

Teleskier,
Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I was expecting. I plan on doing it next week. I'll post the hike on "Trail Conditions". Probably doing Wright slide next.
