Overlook Mt Firetower (Catskills) 10/10/10

The trail (or should I say road) is easy to follow but it's steep most of the way, was packed with people going to the top. Just before the summit you come to the remains of the old Overlook Mt Hotel...very interesting. The tower and the old observers cabin have been fixed up real nice. The views from the tower are outstanding! To get away from the crowds there are some ledges on the southeast side of the mt were you get an awesome view of the hudson river and the ashoken reservoir. The fall foliage was GREAT!!!!
This is a good hike for kids!
