Date of Hike: November 1st, 2008
Trail Conditions: a bit wet and muddy in places down low. Above 2700' patches of ice become regular in trail. Ridge has some light snow and rime ice. Trail from the bump between the Saddleback Summit and the Horn down to the col is the most icy area.
Special Equipment Required: Poles - helpful, Microspikes or light traction devices recommended. Favorite beer to celebrate my NE4Ks finish - HIGHLY recommended.
Comments: Gorgeous views with a nip of winter in the wind. A long hike for these short days. Difficulty seemed a bit higher than the mileage and elevation gain would suggest. Ridgeline views more than compensate for any extra effort.
