Sherpa Kroto: if you're reading this (I believe Mike is going to print these out and give them to you) I had Jess take a few pictures of me tonight. I think they'll help you recover! Send them to you as soon as possible!

Very sorry to hear about your injuries SK. Heres hoping for a speedy recovery. And if they do find the perp, I am all for the Crampon dance, and I am a really lousy dancer.

Sherpa,

Get well soon.

My wife was run over by a kid on a snowboard while she was skiing at Wachusett about 4 seasons ago and she hasn't been skiing since. She wasn't seriously hurt but this really shook her up. Unfortunately this is becoming more common. I had a kid run me over a couple of years ago. He thought that he could out run this old guy. He thought wrong!

Sherp - this is awful. But, it sounds like it could have been so much worse..........you are lucky. Take care, you are in our thoughts and we'll try not to make you laugh too hard!! :D

Any idea how long he'll be in the Rutland hospital??

Possibly a up to a week.

Sherpak - Thinking about you down here and hope you have a speedy recovery and can back to the out of doors soon. What a miserable thinbg to have happened....

SK,
I've not met you except through my appreciative reading of your many comments on hiking (and growing up in Berlin). My thoughts and prayers are for you as you recover. I'm concerned, not only about your injury, but also about the increasing frequency of these hit-and-run accidents...no, they're assaults....at ski areas. In the last few years I've had several friends injured this way. I know one guy who has returned to skiing only if his buddies form a protective escort around him as they ski down!
I hope you're on the trails, uphill and down, before too long!

SK...Sorry to hear you got hurt.
Here's to a speedy recovery....
and may all your nurses be cute...!

Sherpa... It was an absolute honor to have been able to hike with you and also to stand on top of Rainier with you and the rest of the gang. I never spoke about this, but I never gave summiting peaks whether they're in the NE or out west or anywhere such a big deal until I saw the look in your eyes when you made the summit. I think I realized how special it was for all of us then and it really meant something. I look forward to hiking and kayaking with you after you heal. I am praying for a speedy and good recovery and looking forward to seeing you soon.

ouch! :(

I went downhill skiing, once, in 1989... slipped on a patch of ice, hurt my knee & shoulder, then after the first aid people came there was a rather heavy woman who lost control and fell over onto me. I haven't been back since & don't plan to...

...but that injury was nothing compared to this one, I really hope SK gets better soon. As for the guy who caused this, if they don't catch him, I hope he has bad skiing karma for the rest of his life.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. We are all sending you good karma!

SherpaK, sorry to hear about this.....what an awful thing to have happen. I'll be thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery.

SherpaK, I'll have to come visit while I'm still retired.

Get well soon.

I'm sorry to hear the news. I'm also sorry to say the first thing I did was to look at the bottom-right corner of my screen to see if it was April 1. I'm sorry it isn't.

anyway, Sherp, take a look at this thread and then smile b/c you've made a lot of friends. You have a gift and this shows how much folks love you, buddy...

Rest up, Sherp, b/c you have some hiking and guitaring to do real soon!

Cheers,
Spencer

P.S. I'm with Arghman - bad skiing karma to that SOB. May his turns be sloppy, his boots blisterful, and his apres-ski filled with cold hot chocolate and Neil Diamond.

SherpaK,

Hang in there, buddy. Take it slow and have a safe and full recovery. We'll see you out on the trails soon enough.

ThreeShoes sends her warm regards as well.
