It sounds like his technology failed him when he needed it (as is typical) but he was well equipped (sleeping bag, food, water).

He sounds like quite an athlete-skiing 100 days a year at 80 years old! Glad it had a happy ending.

Thank goodness for the happy outcome! I hope I'm still going as strong as he is when I'm his age.
