Date of hike: 2/8/15
Conditions: We followed skidder roads as high as we could, then bushwhacked in 2-3 feet of powder to the summit, running into a few thick spruce sections, boughs heavily laden with snow. Below zero and snowing all day. We spooked 2 moose out of their beds and their tracks let us the final 400 feet right to the cannister. Thanks to Wally for braving the frigid temps and spruce traps.
Equipment: snowshoes essential
Parking/roads: Wiggle Brook Rd plowed, with at least 5 inches of additional snow over the weekend since plowing
