A great 12 mile hike up and over Kearsarge to finish the Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway on a beautiful winter day!

Section 10 from Proctor Academy to the base of Kearsarge was easily bare booted due to our early start and hard-packed snow conditions. Trail pretty easy to follow, stay to the right as you cross the large field and you'll be all set! This section is mostly on snowmobile trails, but we didn't see any today.

Section 11 follows the Barlow Trail up Kearsarge and then the not so popular Lincoln Trail down to the road. Barlow trail bare bootable. Top part of Lincoln trail a bit steep and rocky, some icy sections that we were careful descending. Beautiful birch glades and untrodden trail, we eventually put our snowshoes on due to post holing, then after 15 min or so, we came to some snowshoe tracks of someone who had turned back a day or two ago and we had a track to follow downhill and walk on without falling in! A couple of the stream crossings are open, but easy to get over with a good jump. Great trail, great day!! :D
