Trail Conditions: There are some very mossy, green, slippery rocks in sections of this very wet woods, with rain almost every day this summer, it really is like a temperate rain forest up there!
Once up to the Carter Moriah trail, the going was fine, but could have been trickier in the rain. There were a few mud holes that could have had some through hikers in the bottom of them and we wouldn't have even known!

Special Equipment Required: Vibram soles and hiking poles, rain shells, water proof boots.

Comments: Started on the trail about 8:00. Managed somehow to completely avoid the raindrops even though we had heard thunder sporadically through the latter part of our day, and when we got back to the lot, there were big puddles and the cars were all wet.
Someone was watching out for us!
Loved following the Stony Brook for much of the trail, lots of nice falls, and pools, and a nice flume. Saw a moose about 1/2 way up, only just, and he was gone. Sandi was surprised to see droppings along the ridge near the summit, I told her they were doing the A T!
