Date of Hike: 8/6/10

Trail Conditions: The trail is very muddy between the outlook loop and the AT crossing. However, lots of new bog bridges make travel much easier. There's still lots of places where you're going to get your boots dirty.

Special Equipment Required: Camera and a wind breaker for the open summit.

Comments: Success Pond road is in great shape. Any type of vehicle can reach the trail head. The trail is a moderate grade until the lookout loop, then relatively flat until the AT. The trail intersection to the summit has a little bit of scrambling, especially at a 20 foot ledge. Definitely check out the loop for the great views. Nice open views from the summit too. We couldn't linger long on top due to a strong storm front that came through. Luckily we had some nice views before the clouds and rain rolled in.
