Table Top Mountain via Johns Brook Valley?

Planning on stationing at Slant Rock LT site in early September to hike Yard and Big Slide one day and Haystack the next. I need to get Tabletop for my 46 list and thought that this would be an interesting bushwack from the Hopkins Trail straight up the creekbed to the middle hump (second highest point) of Tabletop.

Any thoughts?

The top of Tabletop is very thick. I know that some have done the bushwack you're referring to, but they've done it in winter with lots of snow covering the scratchies.

I agree with peakbagr. Otherwise what isn't doable? Just be prepared to suffer (a little).

I've always wanted to do Tabletop this way- but was discouraged by others.
