Tecumseh via Mt. Tecumseh Trail from ski area parking lot

Crusty snow down low with 3-6" fluffy snow underneath, bit more snow higher up with a few inches of new fluffy snow on top of the crust. Water crossing just past the trailhead still open but easy to cross, all others snowbridged. Overall trail is in great shape. Passed some others on the hike up in snowshoes, but passed several others on the way down in bareboots that weren't helping to pack the trail down much - I wore snowshoes car to car which helped pack the trail out and not punch through like the barebooters did a few times down low. Good views on the summit with no wind and warm temps. Easy dog trail though not much running water.

Jackson via Webster-Jackson Trail from Highland Center

Less crusty snow here, but snowshoes were still the best choice car to car. On some of the short steep pitches between 302 and Bugle Cliff, snow was completely scraped off on a few rocks which exposed some thick ice - going just to the sides on less tracked snow in these places worked well. Trail was better tracked out past the junction - saw bareboot tracks headed to Webster and two additional snowshoe tracks on the way out. Summit cone had a good snowshoe track to the side, easy to maneuver up and down with some care. Cloudier on the summit with more of a breeze than we'd seen all day, but still decent for January. Hannah had no issues with the trail and had plenty of good grip on the steeps. The Jackson branch of the Webster-Jackson trail still gets the award for trail footbed most improved with a couple feet of snow :D - we hike this section at least three times a year for our trail maintenance, and this was by far the easiest it's ever been.

Great day to add these two peaks to the winter list!
