Nice weekend coming up, lets see what the internet has for hiking suggestions

https://www.thetravel.com/new-hampshire-fall-mountain-hikes/
That train running through Franconia Notch looks interesting (photo of cog above treeline)

Welch and Dickey both 4ks, (I guess the AMC needs to change the list)

That Pemi loop sounds like a nice easy day hike, 10.2 miles round trip (versus 32 actual miles)

Probably knock out Mt Pierce after a Pemi loop 3.8 miles round trip (versus 5.9 actual miles)

Not a problem just call 911 when it starts getting dark for an escort out of the woods ;)

The "green mountains under a cloudy sky" photo that accompanies the Downes Brook header are certainly not in the Sandwich Range.
What a wealth of misinformation! Must have missed that lighthouse in the Pemi.

A friend sent me this link this morning. I both laughed and cringed at this gem: "Mt. Willard Notch State Park".

I know for a fact that this website pays its writers a laughably low rate ($15 for 850 words), so I guess they are getting what they are paying for.

Drive-by media. LOL.

Not too long ago on one of those major social media sites, I corrected a post with thousands of “likes“ that purported to contain an image of Mount Fuji. It was actually Mount Rainier. Only a continent or two off.

Having said that, there’s a lot of really good info on the internet that you won’t find anywhere else. But it’s like following a feint herd path through the woods. You need to know exactly the kinds of things to look for so as not to wind up off in the weeds.

Was thinking about contacting the Author. Having a hard time figuring out what time the boat leaves for the summit.

The pleasant fall weather also makes for comfortable hiking conditions.
and other than a few warnings about trails being "slippery when wet" not one mention of possible rapid temperature changes or the disparity in weather at the start of these trails versus the high points.

The White Mountains really don't need any help providing a dangerous place for tourist, but I guess the internet can't help itself. SAR teams in NH have a high level of job security.

What happened to all the trees that were there when we went ?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I wrote a strongly worded letter to WMNF about how much I enjoyed my time in Scotland and why couldn't we have some treeless peaks like they have? The legislature put aside some funding and the results are stunning I think!

Did no one else notice the lighthouse and ocean coastline along the Pemi Loop? Funny...I don't recall seeing those. And an ice-covered Arethusa Falls in an article about fall foliage?
