Sunday, February 17th.
Trails: Ascent: Avalon to A to Z, Mt. Tom Spur, Willey Range Trail Descent: Avalon Trail
Trails are packed but the snow is very deep. Bring snowshoes. Someone didn't and made quite a mess of the Avalon trail. The Willey Range Trail to the summit of Willey is broken out but the wind quickly filled in my tracks. It looked like a set of tracks continued down Willey to Ethan Pond but I didn't follow it far. So, I could be wrong, YMMV.
Special Equipment: Snowshoes and a shell. The deep snow and low hanging branches made this hike seem like a bush whack at times.
