USFS info kiosk at Fresolone's

For a long time I have been wondering ... what is the rationale for the USFS info kiosk in the Fresolone parking area:

funny... i fish the Pemi from time to time, i believe that some work was done on a streambank there to shore it up years back.. so perhaps it was related?

that said, i agree with you on the dubious locations... no trail heads nearby... no facilities.... funny observation...
