Hiked Washington and Jefferson on Thursday 5/8. Via Ammo trail for the assent and coming back via Jewell. Needed Hillsounds by the time we reached the Gem pool on Ammo. Plenty of ice still there. Wore Hillsounds all the way to the summit of Washington and down to the intersection of Jewell where we had to switch to snowshoes for the trip to Jefferson via Gulf Side trail. Ditched and hid the snowshoes about ½ mile from the summit and bare booted to summit of Jefferson. Jewell trail was like a small stream for the first mile going down. Plenty of water, snow, ice and then mud to the Cog parking lot.
