I'm going to be approaching (and hiking+one night camping) Mansfield from the west, and we need an inexpensive place to stay when we're done. Hopefully someplace with a courteous owner that won't mind if we stop by to drop off a large bag the day before we check in.

Any ideas?

How about Underhill State park ?, Its an old CCC camp on the side of Mansfield. Its usually run by a retired couple and is very low key. Not a lot of facilities but a nice place to stay. Make sure you have a Delorme guide as it takes a bit to find the place.

That's where we're parking...i figured that between the stuff (namely my cello) that i need to store, and the fact that this will be the tail end of a 4-day hiking tour, i think we need something indoors, and with a shower and bed.

Underhill is just a camp, right? No lodge or anything?
