Just looked into the cancellation policy. AMC keeps ALL your money if you cancel less than 14 days prior to a trip. Looks like we'll be freezing our assets off in a hut for 3 nights.

I stayed there last January and was surprised at how warm the main room got. If 3 nights in the hut is really unappealing though, you could just bail out on the 2nd or 3rd night and look for a motel nearby. Sure, it means more expense, but if it makes you more comfortable for a night....

There are a few fairly cheap motels on route 3 (exit 33 off I-93) in the Lincoln/Woodstock area, and some more in Twin Mountain off exit 35.

Call them anyway. They may have a wait list. You're not canceling altogether, just shortening your stay....Or see if there's a VFTT'er who wants to take your place.
