Trails: Zealand, Ethan Pond, Whitewall Bushwhack, Thoreau Falls, Wilderness, East Side

Trail Conditions: Zealand Trail and Ethan Pond Trail are in excellent shape. We went up the slide to Whitewall Mountain then headed up the cliffs below the summit. The slide is a mix of rocks of all sizes, some are loose, the steepness and loose rocks reminded me of part of North Tripyramid Slide. The cliffs weren't to tough to get up but some handholds were brittle. We descended a thick, steep, overgrown drainage. I'd recommend heading back to the A-Z Trail or head north then east and drop down to the Ethan Pond Trail near the Shoal Pond / Thoreau falls junction. Thoreau Falls Trail is a beautiful trail and in pretty good shape. There is a washout along the North Fork but easy to stay on trail. Wilderness Trail has a washout when it coincides with the Cedar Brook Trail. East side trail has the one major washout. All brook crossings throughout the day were low and rock hop-able.

Comments: Great day out exploring with Alton and Cole, views from Whitewall Mountain are phenomenal. Thoreau Falls Trail is beautiful and remote as it runs along the North Fork over a pine needle blanketed trail at times, go check it out! Report / Pics
