Trail Conditions: Lincoln Woods and Wilderness Trails are in excellent shape. Thoreau Falls Trail was in better shape than it typically is in spring with a few blowdowns and some wet muddy areas. Ethan Pond Trail was in awesome shape (basically a sidewalk). Zeacliff Trail had virtually no snow up to the Twinway and just a few blowdowns. The Twinway had lots of undermined snow with lots of water from just above Zeacliff Pond all the way to Guyot (above treeline on Guyot is totally snow free). Bondcliff Trail from Guyot to Bond has lots of snow but is mostly consolidated (West Bond and Bond’s summits are snow free). Trail from Bond to Bondcliff is virtually snow free. Trail from Bondcliff down to the Wilderness Trail has very little snow and is in great shape. The only watercrossing that I had any problem getting across was the one at Thoreau Falls. Just head about 100 feet upstream and be prepared to leap…

Special Equipment Required: Wore my trail runners with shorts and knee high gaiters the whole way (quite the fashion statement) Carried waterproof boots and microspikes but never used them. Keep the snowshoes in the closet until next winter…

Comments: Got out long before the torrential rains came… Headed over the 2 bridges due to be closed this summer and both seemed crossable without the bridges (some calf deep wading required on the EBP). The East Branch of the Pemi will be a different story come winter/early spring…
