Lauky and I were preceded by a group of five so the trail from bottom to top is fairly well broken out.
The trail is smooth. There are a couple of blowdowns but nothing significant.
The snow was packed powder with no ice anywhere. Crampons were not needed today.
It was foggy until about 3:00 PM when an undercast with some magnificent views set in.
The views of the mountains this evening around 5:00 PM were spectacular.
I heard that the road conditions Sunday up by the Cog station were very dicey, but the NH state truck plowed and sanded the road this morning and a road machine was used to completely clear the parking lot of snow.
This was number 48 winter for me. Pictures may be seen in the trip reports section.
