    Hurrican Mountain 11/27/10

Came in Otoole Rd. A nice walk in to the lean to. Some rocks on the stream crossing are a bit icey. yaktrax/Stabilicer's ok for the way up, last 20 feet or so is a sheet of ice, Crampons needed unless you can get around the ice. A Windy Day at the top, not a great day for views. Only a few...

    Phelps 1/26/08

Trail to Marcy Dam and to the turn off for Phelps very well skied, shoed, very packed out. Trail to summit of Phelps packed out great as well. a bit icey in spots, although was able to navigate without changing to crampons. Plenty of traffic on the summit. a few groups bare booting on the...

Everest: Beryond the limits (second season)

I just heard that it was making a return last night. I wasn't too suprised to see that guy Tim back. I'll probably most likely end up watching it, despite the fact that I do have mixed feelings about the show in general.

    Into the Wild yet anyone?

I read the book, Still trying to locate a theatre where the film is being played. I just can't understand why the film wasn't released in more areas.

    Kahtoola-MICROspikes vs STABILicers

They look like they may even be a more in-between Stabilicers and Crampons which could be beneficial. Couldn't really see from the picture but they do appear to have no top strap.

    new snow shoes

There is alot of debate about the Tevelator being a necessity or not. The main perks about the MSR's is there size, and traction, that I've noticed, IMO, and Any MSR shoe you get is going to give you that advantage.

    new snow shoes

The MSR's are great shoes. From what it looks like, the poles come along with the shoes. If you check out the MSR site, it goes a bit more into detail with different weights. Adding the flotation tails depending on weight and conditions. If the trail is packed out pretty good, theres usually...

    MSR Simmerlite NEW $47

Darren, It does appear that the price has gone back up. I was attempting to do a "print screen" type of thing to show you the amount I paid, but it's not working. Any advice on how to do that. Both Items are shipped from Amazon, I'm not sure if it was mis-priced, and they caught it after a...

    Beginner Trad Rack

Chip, Thanks for the heads up on the life cycle of a climber. :D But in all seriousness, That does sounds like a good approach. Once I feel completely comfortable in the gym, I think I'm going to need to look for an easy single pitch route that maybe I can hike and set up some bomber...

I know Dave or another Admin. is going to probably lock this in a moment. :D But I wanted to spread the wealth! ...I do hope that in the future there may be a spot for deals on gear. I know last year I picked up a set of ice tools due to a thread posted, so I'm giving back! MSR Simmerlite...
