The guide book says that there are no water sources above treeline, and there is considerable trail above treeline on Katahdin. Plus you are gaining elevation very quickly. I always drink more when the terrain is steep, so I always carry more water.

Bald Eagles
A pair of bald eagles built a nest (it is HUGE!!!) in a pine tree near Craig's parent's camp in Jefferson, Maine. There was at least one offspring (but we think two). We're hoping they'll be back next year.

I LOVE Blue Job!!! It's about 8 miles from where I live, so I can get there within 15 minutes. For a little peak, it's got a LOT of bang for the buck! Sunsets can be spectacular and I love that you can see all the way to the Whites - including Mt. Washington!!
