Blackwater Falls is worth seeing. There is a nice lodge there. Blackwater Canyon might be a place you'd like to explore. You can actually drive to the top of Spruce Knob. Seneca Rocks is a great place. Lots of White water rafting in WVa if you like. The New and the Gauley Rivers are great...

I don't see much problem whether it is cadets or an orienteering club. Its always nice to have the woods to ourselves but that doesn't seem to be how it works as a general rule.
