I'm interested in a one-night trip (no hut) via North Twin/Twinway/Garfield Ridge/Gale River Trails in late June. Does anyone have any input on general conditions for tenting/hammocking along or around this route? I understand you're supposed to camp at least 1/4 mile away from the hut.
Thanks!
I'd like to expand my winter hiking range in the Whites, but I don't want to have to buy hard boots. Does anyone have any experience/comments/recomendations for using leather backpacking boots with overboots for winter accents? I do have strap-on crampons.
Has anyone out there used anything made with Gore N2S? I just got a pitch about it at my local outfitter about how wonderful it is but before I go and put down a hundred hard earned dollars for a lightweight shirt I'd like to know if it really is the next "sliced bread?"
