    Grand Canyon

I hiked rim to rim in 1998...BUT...it was in February so the weather was perfect for it. We stayed at Bright Angel Lodge and were shuttled (can't remember how much $$$ it was - but it wasn't a lot) to our starting point. We left around 5:30am and hiked down South Kaibob Trail (4800' in 6.3...

    Who talks while hiking?

Re: I'm a singer Would that be Monty Python? "I haaaaaaaaaaate spam!!!" :D I'll sing when I'm alone so as not to subject anyone else to my voice. My voice sounds great when I'm alone, in the shower or singing along with the car radio. That's it though.

    Good Walkie Talkies

I use the Motorola T5410 Talkabouts. The have a 2 mile range and I've had pretty decent luck with them. We've used them in Search & Rescue training and they worked through all of the concrete barriers ~ so I bought some for personal use.

    Red Bull on the trail?!

That's the last thing I need on the trail! I tried a Red Bull & vodka...besides the fact that I was partially offended by the fact it wasn't RED...I was pretty much done in the rest of the night. Tried to go to sleep later that night and just sort of lay in bed, wide-eyed and fidgety...
