    Your Terminal List

The lists are interesting, and I find them useful as an information resource. But mostly I hike wherever I feel like it, and have a tendency to revist hikes that I find appealing--hence it seems highly unlikely that I will ever complete any lists.

right of way: uphill or down?

Well I said whoever has the axe, but what I really mean is I play it by ear depending on the circumstances. If I am beat (going up or down) I will yeild just to have an excuse to have a break. Google Earth Spybot?

I recently downloaded Google Earth (GE) on my wife's laptop so that I could have it on our trip. As soon as the download finished the anti-spyware program told me that GE contained a spybot called "Cain". Cain, appearently, records keystrokes and mouse use. The anti-spyware program offered...

Good camping location for outdoor beginner

How about Arethusa Falls/Frankenstein Cliff loop? The waterfall is impressive, the views from the cliff are great, and overall it is a pretty easy hike. It takes a few hours to complete and there is an ice cream shop in the parking lot.

    Getting to Barren Mountain

The road to Bodfish Farm is fine--it's the tote road that runs next to Long Pond Stream that is a complete mess.

    Getting to Barren Mountain

As this is my first post let be known that I am overweight, out of shape, and have bad knees--so anything I say about the severity of hike can (unless you're in the same boat) be taken with a grain of salt. Anyone planning to hike Barren Mountain should know a thing or two about getting...
