    the camel has fleas??

    so here is a strange question.... i hiked camels hump via monroe for the first time 2/1/06. about a 3/4 mile to 1/2 mile from the summit the snow was riddled with fleas!!! at first i thought they were poppy seeds but upon closer inspection saw fleas!! i assumed there was some poor flea-ridden...

    Vermont next week?

    i will be in stowe vermont next week--thursday, friday, and saturday. i plan to hike either mt mansfield or camels hump on any one of those days and would love to find a hiking partner. i am unfamiliar with hiking these vermont peaks and would love to hear suggestions on best winter trail...

    ultralight packs--need advice!

    have been looking into getting a new 3000-4000 cubic cm pack and would prefer a "lightweight" model, to be used for winter 4k dayhikes and 2-3 day backpacks. the waistbelts on many of the ultralight models seem flimsy or the packs don't seem to handle the same weight loads as "regular" packs...
