Wal*Mart sells some small (maybe 6" round) LED lights that hang in the tent for about $7 in their camping dept. They have about 20 small lights in a nice circle & put out some very bright light--like a small flying saucer.
Agreed, wood burnig is definetly part of the air pollution probem (no need of starting a long debate about this) but the process of harvesting firewood, as opposed to the impact of producing natural gas & propane has a much smaller impact. My main point was how convoluted this thread has become :).
"burning wood is terrible for the enviorment" come on, people have been burning wood since the begining of their time on the planet. This thread has been just so much to do over nothing--live & let live. If you don't like the HC--don't go there-period--it's that simple.
Somtimes in the Winter the Berlin end is closed with large boulders placed across the entrance. I'm sure some one with local knowledge can post an up to date report. Often trucks & etc will park at the entrance & unload 4 wheelers etc & go into the area. If there is logging going on the entrance...
Sorry to hear about your pack & gear being taken; hopefully, somebody turned it in somewhere. Sure would be a major bummer to lose all your stuff. Good luck getting it back.
