There is parking for 5-6 cars at the trailhead. Nancy Pond Trail was nicely packed out thanks to four campers we passed as they were exiting. We three and a solo behind us packed it a bit more. We used snowshoes and would suggest others do the same. The trail is not consolidated enough for bare boots or light traction. There were a number of blowdowns on NPT. Some we had to crawl under and some over. More snow will make the overs easier, but the unders tougher. All water crossings were bridged but some still require caution.
On the bushwhack we were on the herdpath/trail for the first and last third. We lost it in the middle section. The going was slow here, as it was deep, steep and sprucy. One solo hiker followed our path and met us as we left the top. Snowed lightly to moderately all day. Great day out with Karen and Tom C. Good luck in Baxter Tom.
