    Android Hiking App

Can anyone recommend a good Hiking App for an Android phone? Something that allows me to layout a route and then follow it not requiring cell service. I ran into someone last hike that had an app like I'm talking about. I thought they said it was AnyHiker, but I can't find that anywhere. Any...

We're planning a thru-hike starting at the Saddleback Ski Resort hiking up the slope then hitting the AT and hitting all 4000 Footer along the way to the RT27 parking area. We're planning on staying at the Spaulding Mtn Lean-to. Does anyone know if the lean-to is in good shape and if there is...

    Owl's Head 5/20

We started at Lincoln Woods parking area and hiked Lincoln Woods Trail then up Black Pond Trail. Both Trails were flat and easy going. The Black Pond Bushwhack was fairly easy and we ended up exactly where Lincoln Brook Trail crosses Lincoln Brook. At times there was evidence of a herd path, but...

Hi everyone, I'm planning to hike Owl's Head this Saturday and was curious if anyone knows what the water crossings are like currently? Also, is all the snow gone by now? Any information is appreciated. Thanks

    Maine 4000 Footers

Hi everyone. I am working on my NE115 and only have the peaks of Maine left. I've started to plan for next year's hikes and am looking for suggestions. I live in upstate N.Y. so I was thinking of taking a week and trying to do the 10 peaks in the Carrabassett Valley area. Does anyone have...

    Mt Isolation - Glen Boulder/Davis Path/Rocky Branch 6-11-16

We parked at Glen Ellis Falls Parking Area and hiked up Glen Boulder Trail. The trail is basically UP the whole way to Davis Path with little relief. The Views are beautiful and highly recommended. Davis Path has some wet areas and some blow downs, however, someone was working on clearing them...

Mt Carrigain - Signal Ridge Trail 6-10-16

The road to the parking area is open. Overall the trail was in great condition with 3 blow downs that were easy to get around. There was some ice on the ground near the fire tower, but I'm sure that has long melted. Overall a very good trial.

    Hancock & South Hancock

The Hankcock Notch and Cedar Brook Trails are beautiful and easy hiking. The Hancock Loop Trail was very nice as well. There were no major issues to report, just a great hike.

    Flume Slide Trail???

I'm planning on doing a day thru hike starting on the Garfield Trail, going south over Mt Garfield, Lafayette, Lincoln, Little Haystack, Liberty, and Flume. My plan was to descend the Flume Slide Trail, but saw the warning in the AMC Trail Guide. Can anyone comment on the difficulty descending...

Mt Madison & Adams via Valley Way and Air Line Trails - 5-12-12

Date of Hike: May 12th 2012 Trail Conditions: Ascended via the Valley Way Trail. Mostly dry with avoidable muddy spots. On the last 1/2 mile to Madison Hut the trail was covered with a few inches of hard crusty snow. Microspikes would have helped, but we bare booted it the whole way. Very windy...

    Camel's Hump - Burrows Trail - 3-18-12

Date: 3-18-12 Conditions: Camel's Hump Road is very muddy and there are numerous ruts. Our plan was to park at the end of the road (Burrows Trail-head), but we were force to park just down the road from the Forest City Trail-head due to the low clearance on our Dodge Neon. Higher clearance 4...
