Finished up on Baldpate Saturday with two good buddies in 50+ mph wind & rain. Quite exciting! First time camping in Evan's Notch and definitely not the last. Did a warm-up hike on East Royce on Friday. Great views! Colors were amazing. Listless for the moment :eek:

First bushwack this year not in the rain. Easiest BW of the NEHH in my opinion. 99/100 NEHH. Baldpate will have to wait till Oct.

I didn't shower for 3 days and went home clean - like I hiked in a pine scented car wash for 2 days. Did Scar from Loon - piece of cake going up, hit all the shit on the way down. Did PatN from the 3 boulders. Lots of cliffs! Sucked going up, skirted the junk by skirting east a bit on the way...

I`m heading up early Sept. to finish my 115 and I`ll be staying at the Katahdin Stream campsite. What`s the best route to hit up Baxter & Hamlin peaks? I want to do the knife edge weather permitting. I also perfer loops. Thanks in advance.

ski the upper snowfields from the autoroad. Does that count for anything? After hitting up Tuckermans for three days in April and humping 75lbs up to the Gulf of Slides for three days of dodging water in May it was kinda nice to drive up (a first) and ski some last tele turns.
