Trail Conditions: Amphibranch, a few inches of powder over old snow shoe tracks. I barebooted, probably should have put on snow shoes or traction. Spur, old snow shoe tracks, heavily drifted, snow shoes necessary. Above tree line: wind scoured snow and ice. I used snow shoes although many other parties had crampons and ice axes. I felt comfortable with just a ski pole but Spur/Lowes Path to Adam is pretty low angle and my show shoes have a very good crampon (MSR Denali Evo Ascents).
Special Equipment Required: No wind below tree line. Thunderstorm Junction and Adams summit were quite windy (30 MPH+). Face mask/googles good for the summit. I carried an ice ax and crampons but didn't use them.
Comments: Beautiful day to be out. Cold but not brutal. My first time on the Spur trail. Great views at RMC Crag Camp!
