I am heading up to the north country next week to hike and maybe ice fish on Schroon Lake. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the ice thickness at Schroon Lake. Thanks in advance.
I dont know if this helps but Here in Northwest New Jersey I have been seeing people ice fishing on the lakes in High point SP. I would image if it is safe in NJ it has to be in the ADK.
I drove past Scroon Lake today ( Sunday). It was wind blown clear ice - no snow cover. I did not see any ice shanty's or other evidence of people having been out on the ice. Can't tell you how thick it may be but it sure has been cold enough the past few nights and with no insulating snow things should be looking good soon.
