Hello,

My wife and I hiked/ran the Baldface Circle Trail loop on May 17th. There are only a few patches of snow left, but there is a lot of blow down along the below tree line sections of the ridge.

Does anyone know if any group has adopted this particular section of trail? I would like to help clear the debris, but would like to coordinate with others.

Thank you,

Chuck

This is an AMC trail. The AMC professional trail crew will clear blowdowns on all AMC trails by June 15th (this is the annual goal, conditions may delay it slightly).

According to the orphaned trail list, this trail is currently adopted.

If you would like to participate in trail work, feel free to show up at open trail work days:

Also, National Trails Day is this Saturday June 6th: http://www.nationaltrailsday.org/
I know that AMC is hosting a National Trails Day event at Crawford Notch.

Welcome to VFtT Chuck. I hope the above links are helpful.
If you are interested in adopting, both the AMC and USFS are always looking for more adopters.

Thanks Alan.

I did notice that it was not adopted. I will definitely check out the open trail work days.

Cheers,

Chuck

tchazzard, I think you mis-read Rainman's report. He said the trail was adopted for maintenance. I was a former trail adopter for the section of the side trail from downtown Gorham to Mt. Moriah and didn't always get out there immediately after the snow was gone. I am not a huge fan of the AMC but always believed in the trail maintenance program.
