Date of Hike: April 27, 2008
Trail Conditions: Trail in good shape even with all the fire men and equipment going up there a few days ago. All snow is gone, not much mud even, charred ground on both sides of the trail, but the trail itself is not black.
Special Equipment Required: None except good hiking boots
Comments: All other trails on the mountain were completely unaffected by the fire and the damage on Boulder Trail is the upper third to about 1/2 way across the top flat part. The nice little wetlands/pond was indeed drained by the firemen in their efforts to out the fire. It would have been nice if they had thought about the little flora and fauna who needed that water and returned a few buckets of fresh water from the lake with their choppers before they departed. I think the traces of the fire will be all gone within a month or two.
