Actually, I think the cold snap from last week had much more of an effect; we saw first glimpses of colors on the hillsides this past weekend.
 
Most of the trees still have most of their leaves. The color has been apparent for a while now (color change typically starts in early August in the Adirondacks), but in the past week or so, it's really started to pick up speed. Peak will certainly be here in a few more weeks...
 
A few trees just starting to show some color, but everything is still mostly green (in the high peaks area at least).
 
It's nice to have a slow, lingering autumn. When we get a heavy rain or combined with wind, autumn can go from near peak to almost 10% after one storm.
 
No color in the Catskills yet. Will need a good freeze before we see some. From the weather reports, it doesn't look good. We do have some trees turning brown, which is never good.
