Trail Conditions: Due to some previous posts (Section Hiker), we decided to ascend Polecat rather than descend. We paid our $10 and off we went and employees of Wildcat were very friendly in pointing out where to go. Gorgeous views going up and having skiers and snowboarders coming at you rather than from behond you was a good choice. We kept to the left, following two others and reached the summit in two hours. Trail conditions from that point on were excellent although the sun did make some mushy conditions along the way. We met a few on the ridge and a knuckhead ascending from 19 mile with hiking shoes, not winter boots and not even hiking boots. I swear if there were trail police, he would have been locked up. The steep section down was slow but footing was good. Thanks to everyone, anyone who has packed it down.

Special Equipment Required: We used snowshoes for traction and elevators going up Polecat any other steep sections & micro-spikes on way out.

Comments: Optional - Awesome day with Bob, James, Ed, Dan, Dave & Joe. Clear skies, great views and we got out before heavy clouds arrived.
