Friday afternoon I started at Lafayette campground at 3:30 pm with
my winter gear in the packsack. I used Hi-Cannon trail to reach the summit
and at around 2500 feet high the trail was covered by snow. No need to use
the snowshoes. My winter Merrel boots did a great job. The view on the tower of Cannon was great. Lots of snow on Lafayette!
On the way for the 3 Cannons balls I had to used my head lamp. I had a bit
of difficulty to find the trail going down the 2nd Cannon ball but I find it.
The rest of the hike was fine and a group had brooke trail in front of me.
On the way down after the hut i saw 4 hiker using their head lamp in front
of me.
Saturday morning think was different at Crawford notch. Strong wind and
lots of rain. After a good breakfast at the AMC hostel I went hiking for
Field-Willey-tom. Couple of tree fall on the side of the trail. After 1 miles the
wind was not strong so I managed to done the 3 summits( lots of snow in
the trail). On the way down the snow changed and became very wet.
At Crawford Notch the wind again was very strong.
It was fun hiking in the snow again. :) :)
