Mostly dry trail, a couple of sloppy spots but nothing much. Recently brushed out, so kudos to the maintainers. Lots of good wildflowers out there in the woods right now, and the leaves aren't on the trees above around 2,200' so it is a nice sunny hike with intermittent views. The vista from up top, naturally, is splendid. **The blackflies are out**
Nothing needed but the usual summer dayhike things.
Nice Sunday outing with my mom, my mother-in-law, my wife, our 4-year-old daughter, her friend from down the road, and her friend's dad. The kids inform us that the section below the cliffs is riddled with "fairy houses," and that quiet passage is necessary lest the fairies should awaken and "push us down the mountain." Consequences of this could entail "breaking your head."
Forewarned is forearmed, eh? Watch yourselves out there.
