(See Redington/Crockers report for CVR condition)
Carabasset crossing very easy--simple rock-hop to 2x6 across the main part of the stream. The AT climb out of the valley is a rocky/blocky steep climb (much like the Wildcats). Look out for a relocation where the AT used to slab along the top of a cliff; the old trail still has some blazes and cairns. Some very muddy bits on the shoulder of Sugarloaf.
Equipment needed: Poles were helpful. Stout shoes useful for the rockhop across Abraham--my trail runners blew out and had to be duct-taped for the rest of the trip.
