The route leaves the Garden (W of Keene Valley),
heads to the south side trail, ascends the great range in the col between the WolfJaws, climbs
upper WolfJaw,
continues to Armstrong and Gothics, descends Orebed
and returns to the JBL trail near the ranger station and follows that
back to the the Garden.

The stream crossing to the south side trail was average and presented no
difficulty. The southside trail remains muddy but rock hopping or walking
in shallow mud are all that is necessary.
Likewise there are many wet muddy patches in the cols along the ridge, but no real barrier.
Trails were devoid of blowdown and showed signs of good trailwork (Thanks!)
A difficulty is the trail itself is very steep (ascent and descent).
A couple ladders on the descent to Orebed are unusable but with extra
care can be passed just fine. Very little wind so the black flies were fierce.

Gear: Waterproof shoes a good idea; wind gear.
Eucalyptus bug repellant seemed
more effective than Deet on the blackflies.
