Slide Mountain, Catskills

02/22/13 Hiked Slide Mountain off route 47 with hiking buddy Gnat. There was about 4 inches of powder like snow on hard packed trail. Bare booted to summit. Thick ice bridge over the brook near parking lot made it easy to cross. Pine trees on top were ladden with snow and were absolutely beautiful. Clear day gave us a great view from sites before reaching the summit and again at the Burroughs Memorial rock shortly after the summit. We wore our snow shoes down the mountain just to help improve the trail conditions for the next hikers. Easy hike. we had a great day out.
