Trail Conditions: Glen Boulder Trail is hard packed but postholed down low. As it nears Glen Boulder postholes lessen but ice starts to make its appearance. As it enters back into scrub trail is firm if you stay on path but deep if you step off. Track is a little hard to follow here and you have to push your way through the trees. From Slide Peak, Gulf Peak, or whatever you want to call it, snow is a little softer. Davis path is a mix of rock, snow, and ice. From Boott Spur to Boott Spur Link ice gets more frequent and steeper. Boott Spur Link is very icy and steep above the Alpine Zone sign.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes not needed though could be used in high scrub above Glen Boulder. Light traction (Stabilicers, Microspikes) very useful in ice around Glen Boulder and mixed snow, rock, ice of Davis Path. Crampons useful for Boott Spur Trail from Boott Spur to Boott Spur Link. Crampons neccesary and ice axe helpful for upper part of Boott Spur Link.

Comments: Too nice of a day to not get above treeline. Decided to avoid the crowds going up Tucks and George. Didn't see a sole until Boott Spur Link. HoJos was like another world altogether.
