    Nepal in October

Congratulations, you'll have a great adventure. We went in April this year and my advice would be to bring as much warm stuff as you have. In my experience, once you are done walking for the day it is cold. It's just cold and there is no where to go and get warm. Everyone's experience is...

Best restaurant for post-hike dinner in Whites

I really like Moat Mountain (what's better than beers and BBQ?), but was extremely disappointed in their brisket last time I ate there. Fat laced, no flavor, meat slabs. Clearly was not BBQd or that fat would have rendered out. Hoping it was just a one-time deal. Hiked in the N Presis the...

    Nepal in April

Thanks for the reponses so far. Ininerary does not include Pheriche (Dingboche instead), does include Kala Pattar (that part of the trip is Lobuche to EBC to Gorak Shep, Gorak Shep to Kala Pattar to Lobuche). Happy to hear any one else's advice/experiences.

Hey folks, My wife and I are headed to Nepal in April. We'll be trekking from Lukla up to EBC and then to Gokyo via the Cho La pass and returning via Renjo La pass. Then we have a few days to spend in Kathmandy/Bhaktapur (also a night in Nagarkot and walk to Bhaktapur if we have enough time)...

    Kearsarge South - Lincoln Trail

It gets a fair amount of use. I drive by the parking lot for this trail on a daily basis and there is often one or more cars there. Did a portion of the trail this past weekend and it was tracked out, probably from the previous weekend. There's not a lot of snow, we barebooted the whole time...

Best restaurant for post-hike dinner in Whites

I'll throw in my votes for Truant's, Gypsy Cafe, Moat Mtn, Comman Man and Giovanni's. You can get a GREAT burger at The Black Cap Grille in North Conway. A little fancy, but worth cleaning up a bit for. And its right next to EMS.

    Nepal Trip

Thanks for the responses so far. I should probably mention that I am planning on taking off 4 weeks for the trip, so looking at maybe a three week trek. Allowing 4 days for travel, that provides a little leeway. I am also very interested in experiencing true Nepalese culture/life, not just the...
