So my buddies and I are heading upto to NH for the first week of july, none of us have ever been up there. What's the best hard day hikes with fewest crowds? Any other stuff we shouldn't miss?
I'm not sure if this is the same place as whitelief is talking about, but if your heading south on 73 after you pass Chapel Pond (but before 9) on the left side of the road you'll see a stream. Park on the side of the road and go down the bank. The pool is about 15-20 foot deep.

If your heading south on 73, Spider's Web is on your left just after the first parking lot for Giant. It's huge and easily seen from the road. The next cliff on the same side as Spider's Web, is Lower Washbowl Cliff.

There's no trail, but my buddy hiked up the streambed last year. Eventually you'll get to a point where the terrain becomes too steep to hike and you would need a rope and some pro to continue up the slabs.
