I have followed this tragedy since I first heard (about 2 weeks ago..) There is a great thread over on supertopo.com that has the most info, for those curious.

I will refrain from posting the stuff that has already been...
my hat is off as well.
While I havent been hiking as much lately, I do love your reports pinpin!
Nice meetin ya on cliff a couple months back :)
keep on keepin' on.
I don't know if anyone has any info on the actual ice on the flank of Colvin, near the base of the nippletop slide, but what I am really looking for is pics of the side of colvin from the nippletop side in winter. I'd like to get a look at what I am about to climb in a couple days :) Anyone...
bird and head
rule. period.
They got some bouldering vids too for the climbing kids out there ;)
The vids hands down, i said it before and I'll say it again!
It's been done before, but really, if you are looking for more of a challenge, head on up the wright slide :) then up and over and back.
If that doesnt float yer boat, whack over Shepards tooth, down into the pass, and back up to Marshall. That should tire ya out!!!
filter .. why not?
I always filter. why not? It's simple, gives my feet a rest, I get to hear the sounds of nature while refilling, and it makes it that much more safe!
What's to lose there!?
That's right. We got the first climb in the dack's for the season! Left ALbany at 2:30 am Saturday Nov 11th. At 4:20Am or so, we were in the Stewarts in Keene praying to god that the gas pumps were on, as my truck had been on low fuel since exit 30 off the northway! There weren't open till...
I am looking to do seymour tomorrow.
Has anyone been up there recently? Is the trailhead still open, or do you have to hoof it the extra way down the road?
Also, what are the snow conditions up there, at trailhead and summit?
Thanks!

Wow, glad you were over the icicle! I think my girl and I will haul the gear up to the ravine, if for nothing more than to get her out on the whites for the first time :P Thanks everyone.
Im looking at Pinnacle
Hey, I am looking to do Pinnacle, if it looks ok. I am totally iffy on the avy conditions, as a member posted in my other post. If not, we might try a diff route and see you guys at the top? :)
To all of you NH guys:
I was wondering what your opinions on a traverse up Pinnacle Gully this weekend would be. Specifically, I know the summit of MT Washington is winter and icey at the current moment, but what about the Huntington Ravine?
I know it would be thin if any ice, but is there...
