North Percy was hard to beat for the eclipse in Northern NH.

The old cabin remnants on Sugarloaf are still there.

No Eclipse Rescues listed on the Fish and Game Website

I've only seen one report of someone making the 19-mile round-trip to Magalloway. Better them than me. 😂

    White Mountains Trail Collective?

Yes, they were working on some of the trail projects we were keeping an eye on for the White Mountain Guide. They built the relocated Iron Mountain Trail, for example, and also worked on the Crawford Path project. I had heard some of this story previously but not the details mentioned in this...

I'm with you and am likely not going anywhere. The whole thing just sounds too people-ey!

I'm still seeing people asking if the roads to Magalloway are open. Hope no one drives all the way up there and is crushed by the sight of a closed gate.

Sawyer River Rd will be closed to vehicles for 2024 until further notice

AFAIK, USFS still has plans to remove the damaged bridge over Rocky Branch, but it's unclear when it will happen. When we were working on the last White Mountain Guide, they told us it was going to be 2022 but to my knowledge the bridge is still there.

Sawyer River Rd will be closed to vehicles for 2024 until further notice

The Rocky Branch bridge was washed out during the Halloween storm of 2017.

Winter - Enjoy what is left of it

I was saying to a friend on a hike the other day that if there isn't going to be any more snow, we may as well just move onto spring and be done with it. Bring back the color. I'm fine with an early spring as I still have a lot of field work left to do for the next southern NH guide.

The road doesn't close and the parking at Mead Base is plowed.

Not a snow dump up north

In my experience, I've seen Quinttown Rd. plowed up to the last house, but that's not always the case. It's not plowed up to the parking area for J/Kodak.

Heads up, lots of major roads closed in the Northern NH

A public post on Facepage that's being updated as things change. I tried to link to it directly but VFTT didn't like that for some reason.
