Hi, I have a bad back too. I find that putting some icy hot on before the hike helps it loosen a lot. Also a neoprene weight loss belt gives a lot of support and keeps the muscles warm and loose. Good Luck! :D
Beautiful Pics.
I have been wanting to hike the 4000 footers of Maine for some time and was wondering if you could recommend any good books I could use for planning?
Congrats, nice way to finish it up. enjoyed your pics and the ones on facebook too.
I'm looking to expand my circle of hiking buddies too, sent you a friend request on face book.
Congratulations on a Great Effort. I couldn't even think about attempting something like this. I hope you try it again sometime when the weather is cooler and you accomplish your goal.
Big Earl,
Congrats to both you and Trail Trotter Sue.
I look forward to reading your posts, they are very entertaining and sometimes I use them as inspiration for my own hikes.
I especially like the way you include the azimuths for your bushwacks. I used the Black Pond azimuth this winter...
What an incredible stroke of luck! The Pink Peep is one of the most elusive of all the coniferous birds of the North East. Reminds me of the time I had the good fortune of seeing a chocolate rabbit go hippity hoppity down the trail several years ago.
:D LMAO good post!
Tim

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll use this to organize hikes in the future. I usually hike solo so the car spots might be tricky.
good luck finishing your quest this winter and congrats on being made a Moderator
