I will be in Albany this weekend, and have about 3 - 4 hours to kill on Sunday morning. I'm totally unfamiliar with the area, other than the roads to the capitol. Are then any good hikes around that would take 3 to 4 hours including driving time? Thanks for any help. Keith

A good trailess peak right now is Marshall, with some very obvious tracks. It's easy to get to, but the climb is a little tougher, but nothing like Allen. Keith

Just used my new gaiters yesterday, and at the end of the day, found that the only place I was wet was UNDER my gaiters, I presume from perspiration that couldn't escape. They were helpful in some of the muddy spots on the trail where water was still running. I wonder if the tradeoff was worth...
